AICS Addis Ababa donated to the Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) 20 water tanks of 10,000-litre and various hygiene materials to benefit support operations for vulnerable returnee migrants, totalling almost €50,000.
The handover, attended by Arianna Catalano, Deputy Head of Mission, Francesco Dagostino, AICS Addis Ababa Emergency Programmes Manager and Ayderus Hassen, EDRMC deputy commissioner, took place at a warehouse in Addis Ababa, from where the materials will be transported and distributed to support vulnerable returnees in Ethiopia.
The donation of the materials took place at the close of an emergency initiative to strengthen basic services and create employment and protection, as well as psycho-social support for potential migrants and returnees.
