Yesterday, in Addis Ababa, the Ministry of Water and Energy presented the new integrated management system of water resources, a system that considers water as a central element of social, productive, economic and agri-food development.

This vision is supported by AICS, Embassy of the Netherlands in Ethiopia, together with the EU, and the three actors intend to help fulfill it thanks to important complementary projects that will give Ethiopia a new development horizon: in particular, AICS has launched the Basrinet project, financed by the Italian government and the Integrated Water Resource Management project financed by the EU.

In addition to realizing the ambition of providing access to clean water to the entire Ethiopian population, those projects also provide the backbone supporting an integrated water resources management methodology across sectors and promote management at river basin level. For sustainable, lasting and inclusive development.
