The “Advancing Climate-Resilience and Transformation in African Coffee” study tour kicks off in Addis Ababa as part of the ACT Coffee Programme, promoted by UNIDO, with support from the Italian Government and within the Global Gateway framework.
From 24 September to 4 October 2026, participants from Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique will take part in meetings, technical sessions and visits in Ethiopia and Italy, exchanging knowledge, skills and experiences across the coffee value chain.
As one of the flagship initiatives of the Mattei Plan for Africa, the programme brings together public institutions, research centres, coffee-sector professionals and the private sector, while recognising the specific contexts and expertise of each participating country and strengthening opportunities for cooperation between Africa and Italy.
The inaugural programme in Addis Ababa includes contributions from the Embassy of Italy in Ethiopia, AICS Addis Ababa and UNIDO, an overview of the Ethiopian coffee sector presented by ECTA, and visits to the Coffee Training Center and Fill Coffee.
