Biography
Tropical agronomist. Since 1985, he has served as an officer at the Istituto Agronomico per l’Oltremare (IAO) in Florence, conducting applied research on agricultural crops, training programs for graduate technicians, and the formulation and coordination of agricultural development projects in African as well as Central and South American countries.
His main areas of interest include the development of integrated agri-food value chains, strengthening of individual and institutional capacities, participatory approaches, agricultural research for development, and partnership building.
He currently serves as Head of the AICS Office in Cairo. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Review Team for bilateral and multilateral project proposals prior to their approval and funding.
